There is a bug report about this issue, but unluckily I have no idea how 
to fix that:

I'm personally not experiencing any of this and have not been able to 
reproduce. I lasso am not an X11 developer so I don't really know what 
is going on under the hood.

Maybe filing a bug (by someone actually experiencing the issue, so that 
he can give actual feedback) report upstream could help.
