In the current design the first thing userland has to do is inform
the kernel module about its idea of what the ABI version is.  The=20
kernel module can then choose to either support it or return=20
EPROGMISMATCH.  If it decides to support it, it will need to=20
respect structure sizes corresponding to $CLIENTVERSION.
