Does anyone have any idea why a brand new Intel VX motherboard won't do 8
bit serial IO on the built-in ports under FreeBSD 2.1.0? stty reports: cs8
-istrip -parenb but the file transfer input is garbage unless you tell uucp
to use a 7 bit protocol.

Same uucp config, modem, cables, ether cards, vid card and external host as
a the previous setup which works perfectly. The only difference apart from
the motherboard is a new AHA 2940 UW.

Have tried all speeds, hard/soft handshaking, a different modem, pleading
and cursing to no avail.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Robin.
