Try it in logical steps.

1. boot your computer (ignore the messages)
2. wait until the usdb has started
3. insert the mouse, see if you get a message saying that it found
   a mouse
4. try to load moused

If it fails somewhere, investigate that. I've never used an usb
mouse except for testing, and it was always done from the commandline
instead of the boot.
