I remember seeing this problem after several make worlds of 3.0-current a few weeks before the Lite2 merge! Completely rebuilding fortune and the fortune data files (doing a "make clean" first) fixed the problem, but I don't understand why the usual "make depend" didn't clean things up. -- Jake
