Richard,

Finally success with the 4.3-Stable install... disks are found!

Strange as it might seem, my dell would only give me the option to change my PCI
IRQ settings for the NIC cards, Adaptec SCSI adapters and the Dell Raid adapters
between 5, 10 and 11. I ended up changing these items in the BIOS to:

Slot 3: Actiontec Electronics comm ada -IRQ 11 (no change)
Embedded Broadcom Corp 10/100/1000 NIC - IRQ 10 (no change)
Embedded Dell Computer Corp RAID adapter - IRQ 5 (was 11)
Embedded Intel Corp 10/100 NIC - IRQ 11 (was 5)
Embedded Adaptec SCSI Adapter - IRQ 5 (was 11)
Embedded Adaptec SCSI Adapter - IRQ 10 (no change)

The 4.3-Stable seems to work on the Dell with any combination of IRQ assignments
as long as the same devices share the same IRQ as outlined above. I tried the
4.3-Release for fun and it was a no go...

The install has now been able to find the disks... so it is off to the next
hurdle : )

Thanks so much for your help,

Barbara
