I have finally found a PCI bus PCMCIA card reader that 
works !!!

(It's a   PCD-RP-220E    P/n 720NNR220ZZ10   by PC Card )

and there is just one question...

Is the failure to flush the cache a problem, or am I missing a 
command sequence between the umount and the physical eject?
