Sigh.  I used the "non-anonymous" feature to get through our firewall (you do
"ftp internet-gateway ftp-passthru" and log on as "user@site").  This change 
means that I have to find a machine inside the firewall with lots of disk to 
ftp the install to first and then NFS-mount that...
