if example.com in your ipfw rule is a net/mask and each of the
10 hosts from example.com match that net/mask then yes, I imagine
all will be limited to 50KB/s collectively.

That is my understanding, anyway :)

At a guess, K/s is kilobytes/second and k/s is kilobits/second

That's the popular convention I'm used to anyway.
