You will get more help from the mailing list freebsd-newbies.  That
mailing list has more help for someone just starting with FreeBSD.

Send mail to majordomo@freebsd.org with 'subscribe freebsd-newbies' in
the message body.

Boot into the single user mode by entering -s at the boot prompt.
Then, set the root password with 'passwd root'.

Use the command 'ls /usr/home' to see if you added any users when the
system was installed.
