	In a volunteer project, people will work on what they want to 
work on.  If you take that away from them, you can't expect that they 
will instead choose to work on something else that you consider to be 
more important.


	If you consider SMP so important, then I would encourage you to 
work on it yourself.

	In the meanwhile, please stop doing damage to the project as a 
whole by discouraging others from doing work in other areas that you 
do not consider important -- especially since many disagree with you, 
including many who do not themselves own or have access to alpha 
systems and who would tend to have a more objective viewpoint on this 
subject.
