Honestly, I don't know...I was chatting via email with Thomas Skibo and 
we put together the release note you saw.  I don't have any first-hand 
experience with hostap...I'm more of an an(4) person.

If the release note is wrong, let me know and I'll fix it, but I can't
help with getting it to work.
