The X server works with truetype fonts, so that's a place to start

Arial Unicode MS if you can find it is supposed to be good. Otherwise,
normal Arial supports ISO-8859-6 which is Arabic script... this is
what Farsi uses, no?

Otherwise, the SIL fonts are a good place to look

Also, I've heard ClearlyU has good Unicode support
