You gotta enable core dumps, and savecore.  (It's silly that there are
two variables for this.)

With the kernel debugger.  Have a look into the section about kernel
debugging in the handbook.

However, judging from your chosen subject, i'm afraid this is rather a
hardware problem.  That is, the crash will happen at various and
unpredictable spots, so the kernel debugger or coredump aren't of much
use for it.
