Subject: bootps/67 requests from browser on certain sites?

About a week ago, when using firefox or seamonkey, and visiting,
http://techweb.com/, http://www.zdnet.com/, or,
http://www.informationweek.com/, a bootps/67 broadcast request is
issued to 255.255.255.255 from the browser.

It happens with no other sites.

All IPs on the LAN are static, and there is no DHCP.

Anyone know what causes the bootps calls, or what they are for?

       Thanks,

       John
