I've seen it go loop as well on my Dual-Xeon.  

I did just switch it to libthr, but still had one occurace.

I did switch maxthreads to 1.

If I can test, please let me know.

Even with libthr the CPU usage is still far too high ...
I'm currently looking at the code.
