I took a look through the archives and found that someone suggested that
using softupdates on a vinum drive with the drive's internal cache enabled
might not be a good idea. Is there any general consensus on this?

The drives in question are Seagate U160's (9GB) with 4MB on on-board cache
enabled through the controller (an Adaptec 29160). Any thoughts?
