I have no idea what's in NetBSD.  If you meant to say FreeBSD, then the
differences between 2.2.6 and PAO are not minimal in my eyes, but I'm
biased.

I believe Warner Losh uses FreeBSD on them right now, and I had one
working for a very short period of time.  They seem to work fine under
FreeBSD.
