Historical, yes.

Also, the NetBSD project seems to focus to an extent on porting to multiple
architectures, whereas the FreeBSD project focuses (again, to an extent) on
providing a stable, high-performance server environment on Intel hardware.
The OpenBSD project, on the other hand, has high security as its focus.
