Nope, bzip != bzip2  (sort of like ssh and ssh2 are two different things)

Hum.. ftp://egcs.cygnus.com/pub/egcs/releases/gcc-2.95.1/
and ftp://ftp.iij.ad.jp/pub/egcs/releases/gcc-2.95.1/
has both .gz and .bz2 versions of the files.

I notice that ftp://ftp.nluug.nl is no longer a mirror of the Cygnus
release tree.
