Hi, I have an Abit BP6 board that I am trying to install FreeBSD onto. I currently have a few operating systems setup on this machine already and I don't want to change the hardware around. I have a DVD drive (HITACHI DVD-ROM GD-5000 0213) attached to one of the HPT366 IDE ports. I want to install FreeBSD 4.0 but it does not recognise the DVD drive as a CD-rom. I've pressed 'screenlock' and then used 'page up' to view the detected hardware while freebsd boots (before the Kernel config screen). It is able to find the 2 HPT366 IDE ports. How do I get the system to allow me to install off the DVD-rom on the HTP366 port? If I use FreeBSD 4.1 will this work?
