i rather not open (my father's) computer to install a NIC as, truth
be told, i am apprehensive of getting jumper settings, if any, wrong
and frying (other) things in the process. i haven't looked closely
inside the (some aptiva) minitower case... "what i don't know, i fear".
that, or, "little knowledge is a dangerous thing".
