It is a FAQ :) I had met the same problem b4. After spend about 3 days search in internet, I got the answer: There r NO CPQ SMART Array Control Driver and NetFlex Driver for FreeBSD, :) If u need internal RAID, DPT is the solution, otherwise, try External RAID - a expensive one :( If u must install UNIX box in your compaq server with such configuration, try SCO UNIX or SUN solarics ( someone report SCO's performace is not so good ) Good lucky ------------------------------------------------ Jin Bo Ph.D. Student of Automatic Control East China University of Science and Technology 130 Mei Long Road Shanghai 200237, PRC ------------------------------------------------ Email: paulk@ether.online.sh.cn Tel: +8621-6425-3794 ------------------------------------------------ ---------- > From: dcorace@sgi.net > To: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG > Subject: install on compaq > Date: Sunday, March 29, 1998 11:54 AM > > I am trying to install 2.2.5 on a Compaq Proliant 4000, the 4000s do not > support PCI, the only scsi controller that is present is the onboard NCR > 53c710, my only ehternet card is a netflex II.
