Neither Nautilus nor my local samba installation seem to cache the list of available host, shares on a host, etc. browsing is extremely slow (but it does work). Concerning Nautilus I verified that when I had a look at the source code of the gnomevfs-extras module where I found according comments. I don't know whether samba-libsmbclient (which is used to implement the smb:// protocol) is supposed to do some caching. Does anyone know how to speed up things a little bit, or is it possible that I am suffering from a misconfiguration?
