4.0 is the -current branch, it's an experimental branch that is more
aggressive about changes, here's just a few big differences:

1) egcs is the system compiler
2) major rewrites of the VM, NFS and VFS code
3) new device API
4) not nearly as well tested as -stable.
5) running -current sort of puts you on your own if you come across a bug.
