Is there any way to extract a kernel configuration file from a built kernel. - I installed FreeBSD 2.2.7 without the sys source. - I then needed to rebuild my kernel for PPP changes. - I then installed the sys distribution and rebuilt a copy of the kernel configuration file provided by the distribution. - I rebooted and found that I had "lost" my old configuration as MANY things (eg. ping localhost) would not work. - I panicked!!! I have now booted of my /kernel.old image. There is a /kernel.config file which is alas empty. Thanks in advance Pradesh Chanderpaul PS : Please cc replies to me as I am not an the mailing list.
