If you happened to install php-5.x you'll need to rename the xml check
from libxml -> xml or vice verus, I forget which, before using the web 
based installation.

It works fine for me on:

FreeBSD 7.0-current
mysql 5.0.9
httpd2.0.54
php-5.1.2b
