Hi I have a 3 machine setup as follows

machine 1:
PII 400/128MB RAM /DPT RAID IV controller connected to 47 GB (6* 9 GB)
UWSCSI disk in RAID5 config. Configured as NFS server

machine 2:
PII-333/256MB RAM/4.3 GB SCSI 7200 rpm with Adapatec 2940UW card
NFS client

machine 3:
P-II 350/128MB RAM/9 GB 10000 rpm UW SCSI with 2940UW card
NFS client, one fielsystem enabled with softupdates

All three machines have FreeBSD 3.1-RELEASE installed on them and are
connected via 100-BaseT to the same switch (Intel Ether Express Pro100)

Can you suggest what commands/benchmarks I should run to determine both
filesystem throughput as well as NFS performance

I am going to be bringing Linux/Solaris boxes into the testing area soon

Thanks,
