The problem is that although messages stop for da0 I cannot stop da1 AND I 
would really like to be able to control this without having to have memory 
cards et al in the devices at all times.

I have tried kde settings>peripherals>storage media and removed the tick box 
adjacent to
Enable medium application autostart after mount 
but that made no difference. The messages continue!!

There must be some other way..

Thnaks in advance to anyone who can tell me how to manage these devices 
properly
