I started out with FreeBSD 4.2 running the MySQL from the ports at the
time on a ppro 200MHz. I now run 4.5-stable(soon to be 4.6) with MySQL
v3.23.49 on a first-gen Athlon K7 700MHz. all works fine for me.
I also run daily cron jobs for ntpdate.

If I reboot the box the date will go back to the correct date and MySQL will only use minimal resources. MySQL is still working correctly and quickly but since the time changes much of the data is incorrect. I also have ntpd running but it can only correct small differences in the time. The time jumps ahead anywhere from 1.5 hours to 3.5 hours. I am going to upgrade FreeBSD and MySQL today but was wondering if anyone else has had this issue or has any ideas on a fix.
