I was hoping to avoid contributing to this flame war, but alas... I just want to remind the FreeBSD devs (you probably know, but I'm saying it anyway): a bunch of users who aren't contributing to this flame war do in fact appreciate how you think about options and consider what's best for FreeBSD. You have taken the effort to consider an idea that is currently not even an option, because it might (or might not) be interesting in the future, and you have done it publicly despite knowing that not everyone would be happy with it. It is useful for the community to know that such considerations exist, because this way we can have the motivation to experiment with rust (if we want to) and find out more about whether it's a good tradeoff. Whether things end up one way or another, I am sure that it will be a good thing for FreeBSD to have thought about this. I am happy to be using a system whose devs I can trust. Kamila
