I'm finding that the CMI8738 soundcard driver is kind of lacking in a few respects (as of 4.6-RELEASE): - No MIDI support (If I remember correctly, this is marked "TODO" in the driver code) - Sketchy Duplex support (Even after `sysctl hw.snd.pcm0.vchans=4`) Works somewhat in ecasound, not all all in audacity. Does anyone know if this has improved in 4.7, the upcoming 4.8, or 5.0? Or am I wrong, and this stuff all works, I'm just setup badly? `cat /dev/sndstat` FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm) Installed devices: pcm0: <CMedia CMI8738> at io 0xb000 irq 10 (1p/1r/4v channels duplex) Thanks for your time!
