Hi, folks. I've been out of the FreeBSD loop for a while and would like to find out how 2.1.6 does on notebook computers. I tried a quick search of the archives and couldn't really come up with anything that spoke about it. Have many people successfully installed FreeBSD on notebook computers? If so, do they have to be pretty standard machines (ThinkPad, WinBook, etc)? I've got a reasonably new "generic" notebook at my disposal to install FreeBSD onto. If I can, I would like to. What kind of support is there for PCMCIA card-based modems, SCSI cards, network cards etc.? The HandBook section is blank on this so I can't tell just from looking. If anyone has experience doing this, specific answers, or could point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
