I found that ${MYSQL_VER} is set in bsd.database.mk but it is not included unless Makefile has USE_MYSQL=yes. It is in bsd.port.mk: .if defined(USE_MYSQL) || defined(WANT_MYSQL_VER) || \ defined(USE_PGSQL) || defined(WANT_PGSQL_VER) || \ defined(USE_BDB) || defined(USE_SQLITE) || defined(USE_FIREBIRD) .include "${PORTSDIR}/Mk/bsd.database.mk" .endif It works with the following patch: --- Makefile.orig 2010-01-29 05:56:57.000000000 +0100 +++ Makefile 2011-10-31 23:22:15.000000000 +0100 @@ -7,14 +7,16 @@ PORTNAME= mytop PORTVERSION= 1.6 -PORTREVISION= 7 +PORTREVISION= 8 CATEGORIES= databases MASTER_SITES= http://jeremy.zawodny.com/mysql/mytop/ MAINTAINER= m.seaman@infracaninophile.co.uk COMMENT= A top clone for MySQL -RUN_DEPENDS= ${SITE_PERL}/${PERL_ARCH}/DBD/mysql.pm:${PORTSDIR}/databases/p5-DBD-mysql \ +USE_MYSQL=yes + +RUN_DEPENDS= ${SITE_PERL}/${PERL_ARCH}/DBD/mysql.pm:${PORTSDIR}/databases/p5-DBD-mysql${MYSQL_VER} \ p5-DBI>=1.13:${PORTSDIR}/databases/p5-DBI \ p5-Term-ReadKey>=2.10:${PORTSDIR}/devel/p5-Term-ReadKey The port will have following dependencies # ports_tree.sh databases/mytop databases/mytop databases/mysql51-client databases/p5-DBD-mysql51 databases/mysql51-client databases/p5-DBI lang/perl5.8 lang/perl5.8 databases/p5-DBI lang/perl5.8 devel/p5-Term-ReadKey lang/perl5.8 lang/perl5.8 Innotop Makefile also has USE_MYSQL=yes (but I am not sure, if it is the right way - I am not ports maintainer) Miroslav Lachman
