There is ports/131276 but it has old snapshot. The new snapshot depends on libdrm_nouveau.so which is only in git at the moment. So I think it's better to wait for a new release of libdrm before replying to the PR with update. > I would like to track the progress of this driver. But the DDX driver *just* worked out of the git. So I packaged it in a port for others to try. > if I am correct xf86-video-nouveau is 2D only at this point. Right. Though I don't know if any of 2D accel parts require DRM support (eg., EXA, Xv, XvMC). > I would like to know instructions for how to test it on FreeBSD 7.1 or even 8 It should be as simple as - delete nvidia-driver (if you have one installed) - extract, compile and install libdrm and nouveau. - enable nouveau in xorg.conf If you happen to want one from that PR then you don't need new libdrm. The one already in ports should work fine. > > Sam Fourman Jr.
