I suppose it's possible, but I doubt it.  That would represent a
serious bug in sendmail.

The "Signal 11 FAQ" might help:

Do something long and CPU- and memory-intensive like compiling a
kernel or, better yet, the entire system.  If the compiler keeps
bombing on signal 11, you've probably got a hardware problem.
(Two common culprits are bad RAM and an overheating box.)
