I would agree. I'm going to assume the large partition is on /usr. If it's not, modify accordingly. 1. mkdir /usr/var 2. cp -Rp /var/* /usr/var/ 3. rm -rf /var 4. ln -s /usr/var /var Alternatively, if you're worried about making a mistake. You could just rename var instead of deleting it.
