Have you tried the supplied X configuration utilities? (eg XF86Setup).  It
is quite likely that most of this info can be determined by the software
automatically.

Also, you can try using the SVGA server with the "probeonly" option to
see what it finds (you'll need to do some searching in the supplied docco
for the details on doing this).
