Hi, In 4.4's defaults/rc.conf, there is a paragraph with the following words: # If you have any sppp(4) interfaces above, you might also want to set # the following parameters. Refer to spppcontrol(8) for their meaning. sppp_interfaces="" # List of sppp interfaces. #sppp_interfaces="isp0" # example: sppp over ISDN #spppconfig_isp0="authproto=chap myauthname=foo myauthsecret='top secret' Since the user must not configure the ISDN isp interfaces anymore by using the facilities provided in rc.conf, the example there leads to errors and must be removed! In case i remove the already commented out two lines the left over part is missing the examples so the whole thing could be removed ... Or, the example could be rewritten to use another interface name, but i dont't know who else is using sppp - even if, i have no proven examples. The best thing to do would be to rewrite the rc.network script to take care for the difference and support spppcontrol as well as ispppcontrol, but at this late point in time i don't want to touch it anymore. Comments, please! hellmuth -- Hellmuth Michaelis Tel +49 40 55 97 47-70 HCS Hanseatischer Computerservice GmbH Fax +49 40 55 97 47-77 Oldesloer Strasse 97-99 Mail hm [at] hcs.de D-22457 Hamburg WWW http://www.hcs.de To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
