Dammit!  As much as I like my Evolution mailer I hate that I have no
control over the encoding of attachments.  Yes, it was transferred as
application/octet-stream, with a content-transfer-encoding of
quoted-printable. ARRGH!

Trying again with a compressed file, and I *will* watch my local copy
for further accidents.
