Luigi, I have similar problems, freezing and loosing lock on the access point that is under the table the laptop is sitting on, although the later has become better over time with various commits. Especially the 'firmware loading problem' would be a nice thing to have in RELENG_6. It would make me get rid of the ethernet cable in the leaving room for times when the wifi connection cannot be restored and I do not want to reboot the laptop.
