FWIW, I also don't think its a good idea, but I don't see any other solutio=
n.
At least the sed changes should be MFC'd so that -STABLE users won't have
to have the sed_reinplace port installed.

Has anyone actually produced statistics on the number of ports that have
sed-incompatible regexps?
