/dev/ttyv0 is /dev/console by default. If you boot over a serial console, then
the messages will be logged over /dev/ttyd0 instead of /dev/ttyv0. To disable
syslog messages then, remove /dev/console from /etc/syslogd.conf if that is
really what you want.
