Since it's translating the "passthrough" drive into a SCSI device, it's probably just not handling that property. Don't forget, that ARC-1220 is an 8-yr old card, from back before "advanced format" drives were even a thing to be an issue. Just use the gnop trick to force the pools to 4K alignment during creation.
