This isn't the place to discuss this, but, for those who have an 
interest, read on (and reply privately or move to a different list):

The USE_POSTGRESQL tunable understands the following options: client, 
server, 7, 73, 74, 8, and devel.

USE_POSTGRESQL = client 7
USE_POSTGRESQL = server devel
USE_POSTGRESQL = client

The USE_POSTGRESQL port is a shortcut that sets the USE_POSTGRESQL_VER 
and USE_POSTGRESQL_CLIENT tunables.

... iirc.  I'm away from my development machine at the moment, so I'm 
talking from a 2wk old memory.  But, I think most people get the gist.
