    Edit /etc/syslog.conf to direct them to /dev/ttyv2 (the 3rd virtual 
console) or just to a file.  There are various arguments in favor of both 
methods, of course. :)  e.g.

*.notice				/dev/ttyv2
*.alert					/dev/ttyv2
*.emerg					/dev/console
