I like your plan, but this would also involve the translation teams
maintaining their very own copies of this page, and I don't know that
most of them have the time or resource to do that.

For your information, in December sometime I mailed Annelise Andersen,
Tom Mittelstadt and another publisher that I forget to ensure we had
permission to use the cover images from their books, and to get images
that they wanted used.

Annelise was the only person who even replied; she sent me images in
the approximate dimensions of the thumbnail and linked images (some of
the linked images are different sizes) and even provided me with some
copy describing her book that we could use. Unfortunately due the total
lack of response from other parties I moved on to other things, but these
are probably going to be of use to you if you're planning to make these
changes, so I'll senf them to you if you like.

Also, regarding the newsletter, it currently links to register.cgi which
harvests your postal address in return for a promised copy of the newsletter,
which jkh assured me is dead, dead, dead. In light of this, I asked Nik
and jkh for an opinion on whether it should stay there harvesting addresses,
and Nik's reply was "nix it", or something along those lines.

So with Nik's approval I'm going to knock up a patch so that register.cgi
will offer to (un)subscribe people to the -announce and -security-announce
lists (it just formats and sends a mail to majordomo, which still needs to
be authenticated) and nothing else, so if you could also remove the links
from the newsletters that point at it, that would be neat.

Ceri
