 preexisting database? And when you trying to import files in gedcom format.

 And make sure that you follow pkg-message instructions:

 You can do like this to make that happen:
 
 echo "WITH_BERKELEYDB=db43" >> /etc/make.conf
 echo "WITH_BDB_VER=43" >> /etc/make.conf
 cd /usr/ports/databases/py-bsddb
 make clean all deinstall reinstall clean

 I didn't work for me until i rebuild py-bsddb with bdb43.
