I have used geometry 2049/64/32    (http://www.jyu.fi/~kallio/atk/OS/FreeBSD)
with the same disk and controller.

I did make a small DOS partition (with DOS FDISK) and then run FreeBSD
install (as instructed in install docs). Then install did use this
geometry. After install no problems.
