When 11.2 came out there was an issue which broke kernel ABI compatibility. The packages are built on 11.1 to ensure that they run on all 11.x which is fine apart from kernel modules like the nvidia one which breaks horribly on 11.2 (panics the box) unless it is built on 11.2. Since 11.1 is supported for three months after 11.2 came out the packages have to be 11.1 builds. -- Steve O'Hara-Smith | Directable Mirror Arrays C:\>WIN | A better way to focus the sun The computer obeys and wins. | licences available see You lose and Bill collects. | http://www.sohara.org/
